An early sound film adventure/melodrama in which a dirigible expedition to the South Pole is complecated by a love triangle. Surprisingly good production values and visual FX for a Tiffany production. However the audio FX are very primitive. Directed by Edward Sloman.

Anna Lee is a stowaway on a futuristic airliner. The plane looks like it just flew off the cover of a vintage scifi magazine. It even has outdoor observation decks so you can go outside while the plane is in flight!

Captain Hadley (J. Farrell MacDonald, who also appeared as the City Editor in "Danger Ahead") reaches the age limit for firefighter and is retired. While he is bored out of his mind at home, an arsonist (George Pembroke), who evidently is called Wendell, despite the fact that noone ever calls him by name, starts to burn the city down, building by building. After his friend Burt (Joel Friedkin) dies fighting a fire, Hadley unofficially joins up with the arson squad to track down the arsonist; but as Hadley zeroes in on Wendell, Wendell zeroes in on Hadley...

An elevator operator (Frank Fay) invents a machine that he believes can help to defeat a corrupt politician (George Diamond) in the city's upcoming mayoral election

Daydreams

Buster Keaton asks the father of the woman he loves for her hand in marriage, but the father wants to see Keaton make something of himself first.
"I'll leave for the city to make good. If I'm not a success, I'll come back and shoot myself," Buster declares, which is a perfectly acceptable arrangement as far as the father is concerned.
So Keaton heads off for the big city and tries his hand at a number of different jobs.
But his letters to his girl suggest more noble and enterprising careers than those he's actually attempting.
