A new map of ocean life

The ocean is the largest ecosystem on Earth, yet we know very little about it. Today, DNA sequencing and high-throughput microscopy help biologists to map the very rich oceanic biodiversity and to identify new organisms and genes of interest for biotechnology. Scientific innovations are also key to monitor the impacts of climate change on that frontline ecosystem that is the ocean.
