For Gerardo Diego, Claude Debussy was one of the three inventors of the piano, along with Chopin and Scriabin. To the Frenchman he dedicated a precious sonnet, "To C. A. Debussy", which incorporates much of the imagery associated with the composer. The recital is completed with music by Gabriel Fauré, whose music was actively disseminated by the poet and to whom he paid homage in "Prelude, Aria and Coda to Gabriel Fauré", and by Maurice Ravel, whom Diego met in Oviedo in 1928 and of whom he always kept with special zeal the dedicated score of Miroirs.
