Among Gerardo Diego's favorite composers was Chopin. In 1918 he was inspired by a paraphrased work entitled "Nocturnos de Chopin" (published in 1963) whose purpose was "to tell myself in a low voice what the music of the nocturnes suggested to me when I played it on the piano". This recital reproduces the program of the evening held at the Ateneo de Soria in May 1920 in which the poet played on the piano a selection of Chopin's Nocturnes accompanied by the reading of his paraphrases by Mariano Grandos. We listen to it preceded by a selection of the Preludes Op. 28 interspersed with the "Intermezzi" that Gerardo Diego included in his 1963 publication.
