"A conversation between writer John Banville and Valerie Miles"
As part of the “Writing the Prado/Escribir el Prado” project –the International Literary Residency sponsored by the Loewe Foundation at the Museo del Prado– this public event allows us to listen to the current resident writer in person. Following the stays of John Coetzee, Chloe Aridjis and Olga Tokarczuk, Irish writer John Banville is visiting us this autumn. He will discuss some of the intellectual commitments of his own work with Valerie Milles, editor of Granta in Spanish.
This conversation is part of a literary residency program of such special interest as “Writing the Prado”, whose development focuses on the daily contact of the residents both with the collections of paintings, sculptures and objects held by the Museum and with the human team that works there. In this project, authors with a well-established literary career alternate with others who are no less prestigious, but whose creative career is still at an intermediate stage.
