Ricercatore di Filosofia della Scienza presso il Dipartimento di Filosofia dell'Università degli Studi di Milano. Ha lavorato all'INAF Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera e all'Università degli Studi di Pavia ed è stato visiting schoolar all'Istituto di ricerca per la Storia della Scienza del Deutsches Museum di Monaco di Baviera e al Max Planck Institute for the History of Science di Berlino. Fra le sue pubblicazioni, il libro Lo sguardo muto delle cose (2010) e numerosi saggi di storia della scienza del XIX e XX secolo.
