Año 1998, Santiago de Chile. En el 11 juzgado del crimen a un actuario le es asignado un caso no resuelto, la causa 2681. La investigación parte con el propósito de reconstruir la desaparición de la víctima. Con distintas perspectivas de un mismo evento, el actuario va construyendo la imagen de Jacqueline, al mismo tiempo que descubre que la justicia en su país es un privilegio. Luego de varios intentos fallidos y pactos de silencio, el actuario debe tomar una difícil decisión.

O filme refaz a trajetória política de João Goulart, o 24° presidente brasileiro, que foi deposto por um golpe militar nas primeiras horas de 1º de abril de 1964.
