A miner's treasure is falsely claimed by the corrupt local sheriff and the miner must fight to get it back. The soilers is a 1923 American silent film comedy film starring Stan Laurel, and was released in the same year as the Western (genre) silent movie drama The Spoilers (1923 film). The name of one character from the original, "McNamara", may have a parody in the name of the James Finlayson character.

The dawn rider

The dawn rider is a 1935 Western (genre) film starring John Wayne. John Mason chases after his father's killer, an outlaw who remains elusive until he is tricked into revealing himself with a decoy gold shipment. To complicate matters, the killer is the brother of Alice, the woman with whom Mason has fallen in love. Alice begs Mason not seek vengeance, but a showdown is inevitable. A remake of this film in 2012 cast Christian Slater in the role of John Mason.

The sentimental bloke

The sentimental bloke (1919) is an Australian silent film based on the 1915 poem The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke by C.J. Dennis. It is generally considered the greatest Australian silent film, and one of the best Australian movies of all time.
It took a while for the film to be released as Australasian Films used to screen the movie in the Union Theatre chain. However it was seen by E.J. Carroll who decided to distribute it in Australia and overseas.

The North Star (also known as Armored Attack in the US) is a 1943 war film produced by Samuel Goldwyn Productions and distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. It was directed by Lewis Milestone, written by Lillian Hellman and featured production design by William Cameron Menzies. A Christmas Carol, is a 1910 silent film directed by J. Searle Dawley for Edison Studios. It runs 10 minutes and is one of the earliest film adaptations of Charles Dickens' famous A Christmas Carol. It featured Marc McDermott as Ebenezer Scrooge and Charles Stanton Ogle as Bob Cratchit.
