After winning a fellowship with InfoChange India, Parasher Baruah has directed a documentary film about the rag pickers of Dharavi.
The film was selected to be screened at the Munich Documentary Film Festival in May 2009.
Filmed over a period of eight months in Dharavi, WASTE explores the importance of the rag pickers' role in managing the city's waste and the challenges that these people face every day. Serie coproducida por la Asociación de Televisión Educativa Iberoamericana (ATEI) con socios coproductores donde se muestra la elaboración de platillos típicos de cada país.
En el barrio de Bellavista se encuentra el restaurante Las Tinajas, donde se hace un plato típico de Panama: el Sancocho peronomeño, cuyos ingredientes son gallina y ñame. De este último ingrediente veremos un microprograma donde se hace historia del ñame, su producción y sus clases.
