Si è laureato in filosofia all'Università degli Studi di Bologna con lode nel 1993. Ora è professore associato di Storia della scienza presso l'Università degli Studi di Ferrara nonché direttore del Master in Giornalismo e comunicazione istituzionale della scienza e membro del consiglio di gestione del Sistema Museale di Ateneo presso la stessa.
