Poeta, narrador y ensayista uruguayo Mario Benedetti forma parte del panteón de la literatura latinoaméricana. O, en su defecto, de cierta literatura latinoaméricana. Una literatura qué, por fuerza, se ubica muy comodamente entre el realismo mágico y la idea sentimental de la generación del 98 en España.
